Bio
Zhang entered China's third astronaut group during the expansion that added more pilots, engineers, and for regular station operations. Public biographical details remain more limited than for earlier flown crew members.
Shenzhou 23 launched with Zhu Yangzhu, Zhang Zhiyuan, and Lai Ka-ying. The mission is part of China's normal Tiangong crew-rotation cadence and is also connected to plans for a one-year stay by one crew member.
