Yury Petrovich Artyukhin
Yury Petrovich Artyukhin was a Soviet military engineer-cosmonaut who flew on Soyuz 14, the first crewed mission to Salyut 3. The station was part of the Almaz military program, making his flight central to Soviet military station history.

Bio
Artyukhin trained as an engineer and Air Force officer before selection to the cosmonaut corps in 1963. His technical background fit the surveillance, systems, and operational tasks expected from Almaz station crews.
Soyuz 14 launched in July 1974 with Pavel Popovich and Artyukhin. The crew docked with Salyut 3 and spent more than two weeks conducting military, engineering, medical, and Earth-observation work.
After his flight, Artyukhin continued in space-related service rather than becoming a multi-flight public figure. His record remains important because Soyuz 14 proved that the Salyut 3 / Almaz station could support a crewed military mission.
