Yuri Pavlovich Gidzenko
Yuri Pavlovich Gidzenko is a Russian Air Force officer and cosmonaut who lived aboard both Mir and the International . His career spans late-Mir operations, the first resident ISS crew, and early Soyuz taxi flights to the new station.

Bio
Gidzenko trained as a pilot before selection to the cosmonaut corps in 1987. He became part of the generation that carried Soviet station experience into the Russian-American ISS partnership.
His first mission, Soyuz TM-22, sent him to Mir for EO-20. His second mission launched the first ISS resident crew aboard Soyuz TM-31 with Sergei Krikalev and William Shepherd, then returned on STS-102 after Expedition 1 established continuous human presence aboard the station.
Gidzenko later flew a short Soyuz TM-34 / Soyuz TM-33 visiting mission. His record is three spaceflights, not separate flight cards for Mir and ISS expedition labels, and includes two totaling 3 hours, 43 minutes.
