Bio
Hoburg studied aeronautics and astronautics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned graduate degrees in electrical engineering and computer science at the University of California, Berkeley. Before NASA, he worked at Boeing and then returned to MIT as an assistant professor, where his work included aircraft design optimization and autonomous systems.
His first spaceflight was SpaceX Crew-6, launched in 2023 aboard Crew Dragon Endeavour. Hoburg served as pilot for the Commercial Crew mission and then worked aboard the International during 68 and 69.
During the mission, Hoburg performed two and supported research, maintenance, visiting vehicles, and station operations. His career belongs to the post-shuttle astronaut generation, where pilots and engineers operate across commercial spacecraft, ISS systems, robotics, and science work.
Hoburg is also part of NASA's Artemis-era astronaut pool.
