Tibor Kapu
Tibor Kapu is a Hungarian mechanical engineer and astronaut who flew to the International on Axiom Mission 4 in 2025. His flight returned Hungary to government-sponsored human spaceflight for the first time since the Interkosmos era.

Bio
Kapu studied mechanical engineering at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and came into the HUNOR astronaut program from an engineering background. Hungary selected him from a large national applicant pool, with Gyula Cserényi serving as his backup.
Axiom Mission 4 launched on June 25, 2025 aboard Crew Dragon Grace with Peggy Whitson, Shubhanshu Shukla, Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski, and Kapu. The mission docked with the ISS the next day and carried national research programs from several countries.
Kapu returned to Earth on July 15, 2025 after 20 days in space. His mission made him Hungary's first astronaut to visit the ISS and a major figure in Hungary's renewed human-spaceflight program.
