Thomas Arthur Reiter
Thomas Arthur Reiter is a retired German Air Force brigadier general, ESA astronaut, and veteran of both Mir and International long-duration missions. He was the first ESA astronaut to perform a and one of Europe's early long-duration station specialists.

Bio
Reiter studied aerospace engineering at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich and trained as a pilot in Germany and Texas. His German Air Force career and test-pilot background led into ESA selection in 1992.
His first mission was Soyuz TM-22/Euromir 95, a 179-day Mir mission launched in 1995. Reiter later joined the ISS aboard STS-121 in July 2006, served during 13/14, and returned on STS-116 in December 2006.
Reiter completed three EVAs totaling 14 hours, 16 minutes: two during Mir and one during the ISS mission. Expedition and Euromir names are station context inside his transport missions, not extra launches.
