Bio
Bowen graduated from the United States Naval Academy and completed graduate engineering work through the MIT-Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution program. Before NASA, he served in the Navy submarine force.
He flew three shuttle missions, STS-126, STS-132, and STS-133, all tied to International assembly, logistics, or outfitting. He later commanded SpaceX Crew-6 and served aboard the ISS during 68 and 69.
Bowen is one of NASA's most experienced spacewalkers, with extensive work across both shuttle and station missions. His career shows how ISS expertise carried from shuttle construction into modern station operations.
