Soichi Noguchi

Bio
Noguchi studied aeronautical engineering at the University of Tokyo and worked in Japanese spaceflight before astronaut selection. NASDA selected him in 1996, and he trained through NASA for Shuttle operations before later moving into Soyuz and SpaceX Crew Dragon assignments.
His first mission was STS-114 in 2005, NASA's first Shuttle flight after the Columbia disaster. He later launched on Soyuz TMA-17 for a long-duration ISS mission in 2009-2010, then flew SpaceX Crew-1 in 2020-2021 as part of the first operational Crew Dragon rotation mission.
