Slawosz Uznanski-Wisniewski
Slawosz Uznanski-Wisniewski is a Polish engineer, ESA project astronaut, and Axiom Mission 4 crew member. In 2025 he became the second Polish citizen to fly in space, following Miroslaw Hermaszewski's 1978 Intercosmos mission.

Bio
Uznanski-Wisniewski built his career in electrical engineering, radiation effects, and accelerator technology before astronaut selection. He worked at CERN, where his background in electronics and radiation-tolerant systems connected naturally to spacecraft and high-energy environments.
ESA selected him as a project astronaut in 2022, and Poland later backed his flight opportunity through Axiom Mission 4. He launched on June 25, 2025 with Peggy Whitson, Shubhanshu Shukla, and Tibor Kapu, then returned on July 15, 2025.
His Ax-4 mission carried the Polish Ignis program to the ISS, including technology demonstrations, science, and public engagement. His completed record is one orbital flight lasting 20 days, 2 hours, 59 minutes.
