Shubhanshu Shukla
Shubhanshu Shukla is an Indian Air Force group captain, test pilot, ISRO gaganyatri, and private astronaut who flew Axiom Mission 4. In 2025 he became the first Indian astronaut to visit the International and the second Indian citizen to travel to space after Rakesh Sharma.

Bio
Shukla was commissioned into the Indian Air Force in 2006 and flew fighter aircraft before becoming a test pilot. ISRO selected him in the first Gaganyatri group for India's Gaganyaan human-spaceflight program, giving him Russian, Indian, and later NASA/SpaceX/Axiom training exposure.
Axiom Mission 4 launched on June 25, 2025 aboard Crew Dragon with Peggy Whitson, Shukla, Slawosz Uznanski-Wisniewski, and Tibor Kapu. The crew docked with the ISS on June 26 and returned to Earth on July 15, 2025.
Shukla served as Ax-4 pilot and conducted research tied to ISRO and Indian institutions, giving India direct experience in ISS operations before Gaganyaan. His completed record is one orbital flight lasting 20 days, 2 hours, 59 minutes.
