Sergey Nikolayevich Mikayev
Sergey Nikolayevich Mikayev is a Roscosmos cosmonaut, military pilot, and current International . Born in Irkutsk in the former Russian SFSR, he trained through Russia's military aviation system and graduated from the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots before entering the cosmonaut pathway. His pre-spaceflight background belongs to the operational pilot tradition that has supplied many Russian cosmonauts.

Bio
Roscosmos selected Mikayev as part of the 2018 cosmonaut group. Before his first flight, he trained through the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center and served in backup-crew planning, including Soyuz MS-27 reserve work. That backup experience placed him close to ISS crew-rotation operations before he received a prime flight assignment.
Mikayev launched on Soyuz MS-28 with Sergey Kud-Sverchkov and NASA astronaut Christopher Williams. The spacecraft launched from Baikonur on November 27, 2025, and docked with the International Space Station the same day. His first spaceflight carries him through 73 and Expedition 74 as a flight engineer, with a planned return in July 2026.
Because Mikayev is still in flight as of this update, his total time in space is an active, accumulating value rather than a final statistic. Soyuz MS-28 is his launch and return vehicle, while Expeditions 73 and 74 describe the station mission contexts for his work aboard the ISS.
