Bio
Horowitz studied engineering and aerospace engineering before entering Air Force and academic work. His doctorate and test-pilot experience made him a strong fit for the shuttle pilot track.
He piloted STS-75 and STS-82, including the second Hubble servicing mission, then commanded STS-101 and STS-105, both International support missions. His flight record therefore bridges science payloads, Hubble servicing, and early ISS logistics.
After NASA, Horowitz worked in exploration systems and aerospace leadership, including roles connected to launch systems and future spacecraft planning. His career continued beyond flight into program-level spaceflight development.
