Roberto Vittori
Roberto Vittori is an Italian Air Force officer, test pilot, ASI astronaut, and ESA astronaut who flew three space missions. His career bridges Italian military aviation, European astronaut operations, Soyuz taxi flights to the International , and one of the final Space Shuttle missions.

Bio
Vittori graduated from the Italian Air Force Academy in 1989 and went on to advanced test-pilot training, including the United States Naval Test Pilot School. He flew aircraft such as the Tornado and worked in European fighter development before ESA selected him for astronaut training in 1998.
His first two flights were short Soyuz taxi missions to the ISS: Soyuz TM-34/Soyuz TM-33 in 2002 and Soyuz TMA-6/Soyuz TMA-5 in 2005. Those flights delivered replacement Soyuz lifeboats and supported European and Italian research aboard the station.
Vittori's third mission was STS-134 aboard Space Shuttle Endeavour in 2011, the penultimate Shuttle mission and the flight that delivered the Alpha Magnetic to the ISS. His spaceflight record is three missions, with Soyuz launch/return pairs collapsed into one flight each.
