Pavel Romanovich Popovich
Pavel Romanovich Popovich was a Soviet Air Force pilot and cosmonaut from Ukraine who became one of the early figures of human orbital flight. He was the fourth Soviet cosmonaut in space and later commanded a military-oriented Salyut mission.

Bio
Popovich was selected in the first Soviet cosmonaut group after service as a military pilot. His first flight, Vostok 4, was paired in orbit with Andriyan Nikolayev's Vostok 3, creating the first simultaneous crewed orbital mission by two spacecraft.
He returned to space in 1974 as of Soyuz 14, which docked with Salyut 3. That mission was part of the Almaz military station program and combined station operations with Earth-observation and military research objectives. Salyut 3 is station context for Soyuz 14, not a separate mission card.
