Bio
Platonov trained at the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots and served in the Russian Air Force before joining the cosmonaut corps. He was selected in Roscosmos Group 17 in 2018 and qualified as a test cosmonaut after basic training.
He was initially associated with Soyuz assignments before being shifted to Crew-11. The mission launched in August 2025 with Zena Cardman, Michael Fincke, Kimiya Yui, and Platonov, and it returned early in January 2026 after NASA shortened the flight because of a medical situation aboard the station. 73 and 74 belong inside that Crew Dragon card so the profile does not inflate the flight count.
