Miguel Eladio López Alegría
Miguel Eladio López Alegría, known professionally in NASA and Axiom Space records as Michael López-Alegría, is a Spanish-born American astronaut, retired United States Navy captain, test pilot, and commercial astronaut. His career spans shuttle assembly work, a long-duration ISS command, and the private astronaut era.

Bio
López Alegría graduated from the United States Naval Academy and the United States Naval Postgraduate School, then served as a naval aviator and test pilot. NASA selected him with Astronaut Group 14 in 1992.
He flew STS-73, STS-92, and STS-113 during the shuttle era. STS-92 and STS-113 gave him major ISS assembly experience, including work on the Z1 truss, PMA-3, and P1 truss.
He later commanded 14 after launching on Soyuz TMA-9, setting a major United States long-duration record at the time and building one of NASA's largest EVA totals. After retiring from NASA, he joined Axiom Space and commanded Axiom Mission 1 and Axiom Mission 3 to the ISS.
