Michael A. Baker
Michael Allen Baker is an American naval aviator, test pilot, engineer, retired NASA astronaut, and NASA program manager. Selected in NASA Astronaut Group 11 in 1985, he flew four shuttle missions.

Bio
Baker studied aerospace engineering and served as a Navy pilot and test pilot before NASA. His shuttle career included two pilot assignments and two command assignments across communications, science, Earth-observation, and Shuttle-Mir missions.
He flew STS-43, STS-52, STS-68, and STS-81. STS-81 was a Shuttle-Mir docking mission, placing Baker in the operational bridge between shuttle missions and later International partnership work.
After flight service, Baker stayed deeply involved in NASA human-spaceflight management, including International Space Station crew and international-partner operations.
