Matthew Dominick
Matthew Stuart Dominick is an American naval aviator, test pilot, and NASA astronaut. Selected in NASA Astronaut Group 22 in 2017, he came to NASA with carrier aviation, combat flying, and flight-test experience.

Bio
Dominick studied electrical engineering and systems engineering before serving as a Navy pilot. His aviation record includes carrier landings, combat missions, and test-pilot work, which made him part of the modern astronaut corps' flight-test pipeline.
His first spaceflight was SpaceX Crew-8, which launched to the International in 2024. Dominick served as spacecraft and then lived aboard the station during 70, 71, and 72.
Crew-8 placed Dominick in the newer commercial-crew era, where NASA astronauts launch on Crew Dragon, integrate with international expedition crews, and support a station schedule built around science, maintenance, , and visiting vehicles.
His career helps show how the astronaut role has shifted in the 2020s: still grounded in test-pilot discipline, but now operating through commercial spacecraft, long-duration ISS increments, and more continuous international crew rotations.
