Bio
Delaney earned a mechanical engineering degree from the University of North Florida and a master's degree in aerospace engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School. In the Marine Corps, he flew operational missions, participated in exercises across the Asia-Pacific region, and supported combat missions during Operation Enduring Freedom.
Before astronaut selection, Delaney worked as a test pilot and instructor, evaluating aircraft and weapons-system integration across many aircraft types. He later served as a NASA Langley research pilot, supporting airborne science before joining NASA Astronaut Group 23.
NASA has assigned Delaney as pilot for SpaceX Crew-13, planned as an International crew-rotation mission. Until that flight launches and returns, his completed spaceflight count remains zero, but the assigned mission belongs on the card as a future/assigned flight record.
