Bio
Parmitano trained as a military pilot before ESA selection in 2009. His first flight, Soyuz TMA-09M, launched him to 36 and 37, where he became the first Italian to perform a spacewalk.
During one 2013 EVA, water entered Parmitano's helmet, forcing an early termination and becoming one of the most serious EVA suit incidents in ISS history. He later returned to orbit on Soyuz MS-13 and commanded Expedition 61.
His second mission included the Alpha Magnetic repair spacewalks, among the most technically demanding EVA campaigns performed outside the ISS. His archive shows two completed Soyuz flights, with Artemis III tracked as an assigned future mission.
