Liu Wang
Liu Wang is a Chinese military pilot and taikonaut who flew on Shenzhou 9, China's first crewed docking mission with Tiangong-1. His role is important because docking was one of the key capabilities China needed before longer-duration space-station operations.

Bio
Liu joined China's first astronaut group after service as a People's Liberation Army Air Force pilot. He trained through the long development period between China's early Shenzhou flights and the first space-laboratory missions.
Shenzhou 9 launched in June 2012 with Jing Haipeng, Liu Wang, and Liu Yang. During the mission, Liu Wang performed China's first manual crewed docking with Tiangong-1, a major operational milestone.
