Bio
Rominger studied civil engineering at Colorado State University and aeronautical engineering at the Naval Postgraduate School. His Navy career included carrier aviation and test-pilot work before NASA selected him in 1992.
He piloted STS-73, STS-80, and STS-85, then commanded STS-96 and STS-100. His later flights helped open and assemble the International , including STS-100's delivery of Canadarm2.
Rominger later led the Astronaut Office.
