Judith A. Resnik
Judith Arlene Resnik was an American electrical engineer, software engineer, biomedical engineer, pilot, and NASA astronaut. She was the second American woman in space.

Bio
Resnik earned an electrical engineering degree from Carnegie Mellon University and a doctorate from the University of Maryland. Before NASA, she worked in engineering roles at RCA and the National Institutes of Health.
She flew STS-41-D, Discovery's maiden flight, and was assigned to STS-51-L aboard Challenger. STS-51-L ended in the Challenger accident on January 28, 1986. Resnik's profile is also important for engineering, gender, and Jewish spaceflight history.
