Bio
Ross graduated from Purdue University with mechanical engineering degrees and served as an Air Force officer before NASA. His engineering and experience made him a key shuttle and station assembly crewmember.
His missions ranged from early shuttle satellite deployment to classified Department of Defense work, Spacelab research, Shuttle-Mir docking, and ISS assembly. He performed nine EVAs, including major work on STS-88 and STS-110.
