Jeffrey S. Ashby
Jeffrey Shears Ashby is an American mechanical engineer, naval aviator, test pilot, and retired NASA astronaut. Selected in NASA Astronaut Group 15 in 1994, he flew three shuttle missions.

Bio
Ashby served in the United States Navy as a pilot and test pilot before NASA. His first mission, STS-93, deployed the Chandra X-ray Observatory, one of NASA's Great Observatories.
He then piloted STS-100, which delivered Canadarm2 to the International , and commanded STS-112, an ISS assembly mission that delivered the S1 truss segment.
