Bio
Williams graduated from the United States Military Academy and completed graduate work at the Naval Postgraduate School and Naval War College. His Army career included aviation, test-pilot work, and engineering before NASA selected him in 1996.
He flew STS-101, then three Soyuz-based long-duration missions: Soyuz TMA-8 for 13, Soyuz TMA-16 for Expeditions 21 and 22, and Soyuz TMA-20M for Expeditions 47 and 48.
His expedition labels should remain inside the Soyuz flight cards. Williams was a former American cumulative-duration record holder and commanded Expedition 22.
