Elgin launched aboard New Shepard mission NS-36 from Launch Site One in West Texas on October 8, 2025. The six-person crew traveled above the Kármán line before the autonomous returned by parachute and the reusable completed its powered landing.
The NS-36 patch included a Mercury capsule to connect Alan Shepard's pioneering flight with Elgin's own long-held dream of space travel. The symbol placed his one completed spaceflight within the longer history that inspired it.
