Bio
Grechko trained as an engineer and worked in the Korolev design bureau environment before entering the cosmonaut corps. His background tied him directly to the engineering culture behind early Soviet spacecraft and stations.
He flew Soyuz 17 to Salyut 4, Soyuz 26/Soyuz 27 to Salyut 6, and Soyuz T-14/Soyuz T-13 to Salyut 7. These were three spaceflights, not separate flight cards for each station or label.
Across his missions, Grechko helped build Soviet long-duration station operations and performed work on Salyut 6. After flight status, he remained a prominent science communicator and television personality.
