Bio
Wolf earned degrees in electrical engineering from Purdue University and a medical degree from Indiana University. Before astronaut selection, he worked at Johnson Space Center on medical systems, physiological monitoring, and space-suited operations.
His first flight was STS-58, the Spacelab Life Sciences 2 mission. He then launched on STS-86, lived aboard Mir during EO-24, and returned on STS-89, giving him direct experience in the Shuttle-Mir program before ISS assembly matured.
Wolf later flew STS-112 and STS-127, performing multiple EVAs on ISS assembly missions. His record is shown as four spaceflights because the Mir stay was one continuous launch-to-return mission, not separate shuttle and station flights.
