Daniel C. Burbank
Daniel Christopher Burbank is a retired United States Coast Guard captain, engineer, pilot, and NASA astronaut. He is one of the few Coast Guard officers to fly in space and later commanded the International .

Bio
Burbank graduated from the United States Coast Guard Academy with an electrical engineering degree and later earned a master's degree in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle. Before NASA, he flew Coast Guard helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft in search-and-rescue, law-enforcement, and operational aviation roles.
NASA selected Burbank in 1996. He flew STS-106 to prepare the ISS for its first resident crew, STS-115 to resume major station assembly after Columbia, and Soyuz TMA-22 for 29 and 30.
During Expedition 30, Burbank served as ISS and performed a Russian-segment with Anton Shkaplerov.
