Claudie Haigneré
Claudie Andre-Deshays Haignere is a French physician, CNES/ESA astronaut, and former government minister. She became the first French woman in space and later the first European woman to visit the International .

Bio
Haignere trained in medicine, rheumatology, sports medicine, and neuroscience before selection by CNES. Her scientific background made her a strong fit for biomedical research on Mir and later the ISS.
Her first flight was the Cassiopee mission to Mir in 1996, launched on Soyuz TM-24 and returned on Soyuz TM-23. Her second was Andromede in 2001, launched on Soyuz TM-33 and returned on Soyuz TM-32.
After spaceflight, Haignere served in French government science and European affairs roles and later led major science and technology institutions. Her flight cards now show each launch/return transport pairing instead of treating Mir as a separate flight.
