Carlos I. Noriega
Carlos Ismael Noriega is a Peruvian-born American, retired United States Marine Corps officer, computer scientist, and former NASA astronaut. He flew two shuttle missions and performed major ISS assembly work.

Bio
Noriega studied computer science and space systems before NASA selected him with Astronaut Group 15 in 1994. His Marine Corps career included aviation and operational service.
He flew STS-84 in 1997, a Shuttle-Mir docking and logistics mission, then STS-97 in 2000, which installed the P6 truss and early large solar arrays on the International .
On STS-97, Noriega performed three EVAs totaling 19 hours, 20 minutes, placing him in the middle of early station power-system assembly.
