Bio
Menon studied neurobiology and medicine before working in emergency medicine, disaster response, wilderness medicine, and aerospace medicine. He supported human spaceflight before astronaut selection through medical operations roles.
Before NASA selected him with Astronaut Group 23 in 2021, Menon worked at SpaceX as a flight surgeon and helped support Crew Dragon missions. That background makes his path different from the classic military-test-pilot astronaut route.
Menon launched on Soyuz MS-29 with Pyotr Dubrov and Anna Kikina on July 14, 2026. The crew docked with the International the same day, beginning Menon's first spaceflight as an 74 .
His active long-duration mission is scheduled to continue into Expedition 75, combining his operational-medicine background with station research, maintenance, and crew-support work.
