Gezeravcı studied electronics engineering at the Turkish Air Force Academy and continued graduate study at the Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. His military aviation career included F-16 operations and other aircraft types.

Turkey announced him as its first human-spaceflight participant in 2023. He launched on Ax-3 with Michael López-Alegría, Walter Villadei, and Marcus Wandt aboard Crew Dragon Freedom and conducted Turkish science and outreach activities on the ISS.

The mission became a national milestone in Turkey, connecting its newer national space ambitions with private astronaut access to the ISS. The completed record treats Ax-3 as his single flown space mission and lists the station work inside that card.
