Bio
Newman founded Exploring Our Deep World, a nonprofit focused on education, conservation, scientific research, and exploration of the deep ocean. That work was represented by an anchor on the NS-36 , linking his spaceflight to his interest in Earth's least accessible marine environments.
Newman launched from West Texas aboard New Shepard mission NS-36 on October 8, 2025. The autonomous carried six people above the Kármán line and returned under parachutes while the landed separately under power. The flight extended a record of exploration that had already taken him to extreme environments below the ocean and high in the mountains.
